$26,260 Raised for Relay for Life

You can’t hide from cancer, but you can fight it. You can’t hide from cancer, but you can find hope despite it.

No matter where you are in life, you’ve been impacted by that horrible word we all dread to hear.  You may have battled it yourself. Or sat with a friend as they underwent chemo, wondering if you were really helping in that moment. You may be preparing yourself for the road ahead as the diagnosis just came down for your loved one.

Cancer touches us all, which is why year after year we gather together to Relay for Life.

Volunteers from more than 5,200 communities, from 20 different countries, host Relay for Life events. It’s a time where we can honor all those who have fought or are fighting the hard battle against cancer.

At Cook Portable Warehouses we know our customers, dealers, employees, all are touched in some way by this disease. That’s why we join forces with the American Cancer Society to make a “global impact on cancer”.

As we prepare for more events in 2017, we look back at all the ways we came together in the last year to show our support for those who are fighting against this terrible disease and searching for a cure:

Cook Portable Warehouses in 2016 helped sponsor five Relay for Life teams.  Our teams worked hard to raise funds and show their support for survivors, caregivers and friends.

If you’ve never been to an event, the American Cancer Society says the purpose is to always have someone walking the track to show that cancer never sleeps.

In Union County, IL, our team sold hotdogs and hamburgers to help raise money. All together, we were able to give $5,335 to help find a cure.

To raise funds in Southern Bastrop County, TX, our team built a doghouse for the silent auction and baked cakes for the cake auction.  In total, we were able to raise and donate $5,735!

In Lowndes County, GA, our Cook team raised and donated $5,000 and $5,010 in Joplin, MO.

Over the course of 2016, our Cook Cares teams were able to raise and donate a total of $26,260 all to help raise awareness, hoping to one day save lives through a cure.

Cook Portable Warehouses is a national organization and we make 5 core promises to our customers. One of those promises is that we remain a Compassionate Corporate Citizen.  That’s why we created a division of our company called Cook Cares.

Cook Cares finds ways to help people from all over the nation. We help with many different organizations, such as the Veterans Airlift Command, Citation Special Olympics Airlift and Toys for Tots.  We continue to give back to our local and national community.
