Four Inexpensive Summer Activities to End the Season Right

Summertime doesn’t last long enough for most of us. Between the warm weather, frequent vacations, and more laid back mindset, many of us wish it would stay a little longer.

But when the calendar turns to September, it means summer is officially coming to an end and fall is on the horizon. But the end of the season doesn’t mean the fun times have to come to an end.

It also doesn’t mean you have to spend a lot of money to have fun with family and friends. There are plenty of inexpensive ways to celebrate the end of summer and keep your pocketbook full for back to school necessities and future holiday shopping.

Looking for more ways to enjoy time with family this summer? Read this post. And here are four of our favorite inexpensive summer activities for the end of the season!

Inexpensive Summer Activities + Cook Portable Warehouses

Take advantage of free activities

Many cities offer free or discounted rates for educational and fun entertainment like movies in the park, free admission day, or kids eat free at local restaurants.

Check your city’s website for an event’s calendar and local universities for activities. Just make sure to pack some snacks, drinks, a blanket or chairs to sit on.

Get active and get moving

Whether your favorite outdoor activity is walking, running, biking or swimming, take advantage of the weather before it gets too chilly. Most large cities have bikes you can rent by the hour or by the day if you don’t own one.

Or, join the newest trend of monitoring your steps with a Fitbit or pedometer. Make it into a competition with family members and friends. Then you will get healthy and enjoy time spent with loved ones.

Host a potluck

Celebrating the end of summer calls for a party. And a smart way to throw a frugal gathering is by making it into a potluck. Invite over your family and friends and assign everyone a dish, either an appetizer, entrée, dessert or side dish.

Then you can focus on the fun times rather than planning and cleaning up. Your Cook shed can even double as an outdoor entertainment space or a Pub Shed.

Go camping

Camping is one of the least expensive, most fun activities for families. But you don’t have to rent an RV or drive out of you way; you can camp right in your backyard.

Just stock up on supplies, pitch a tent, and enjoy the outdoors. Don’t forget your portable warehouse can be converted into anything and everything your family needs, like the perfect camping spot.
